The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to the armed robbery of a gas station that occurred on Thursday, Jan. 3.
The BPD has released a store video of the incident, which shows a hooded, masked suspect entering the Mobil gas station at 470 Meridian St. at approximately 7:40 p.m. and immediately pointing a shotgun at a clerk. Several patrons are also seen in the store at the time of the robbery.
According to the clerk on duty, the suspect pointed the shotgun at him and demanded money. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the store on foot.
The incident is being investigated by detectives from District A-7, who are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact them at 617-343-4234. Information can also be sent to the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the subject “TIP” to CRIME (27463). All information can be sent anonymously and may be eligible for a cash reward.
Boston police are also investigating a series of car fires that were set on Monday, Jan. 3 at approximately 12:36 a.m. in the West Roxbury area. Officers from District E-5 responded to a call regarding several cars on fire at the rear of 1200 VFW Parkway.
When they arrived, officers found eight vehicles damaged by fire. The Boston Fire Department was notified and extinguished the fires. The cause of the fires is still under investigation.
