Friday night rock legend, Al Kooper, will be at the Reggatta Bar at the Charles Hotel, One Bennett Street, Cambridge. Kooper discovered and produced Lynyrd Skynyrd, played on "Like A Rolling Stone" and recorded with the Stones, the Who, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and formed the legendary band, Blood Sweat and Tears. His band includes Jesse Williams on bass, Mark Teixeira on drums, Daryl Lowry on sax, Jeff Stout on trumpet and Bob Doezema on guitar.

If you want some country music on Friday, April 4, 2014, then head on over to the 99 Restaurant and Pub, 160 Lexington Road, Billerica (978)663-3999 Kevin White, lead vocalist for popular country band, Walkin the Line, will be doing his solo show. It's a country night with Kevin White!

Michael Gray and his all original American Beauties Band will be at Sally O'Brien's, a great local music hang out, on Friday. Sally O'Brien's, 335 Somerville Ave., Somerville, (617)666-3589.

How about some rock and roll? The Doublesot Boston Band will rock the house down on Friday at City Limits, 326 North Main Street, Randolph (781)986-2489. Doubleshot is Boston areas Best Hard Rock Cover Band. They are one of the few bands in the area that can simply “Rock."

The Soul Box Band is at Slap Shotz, 39 E. Main Street, Avon on Friday, (508)584-9200. Soul Box draws from influences of funk, soul, rock, and reggae and creates a sound that is simultaneously new and classic. On Saturday, April 5, 2014, it's a night of Rock and Comedy for a Cause with host Steve Schirripa AKA Bobby Baccalieri from the HBO series, the Sopranos. The evening features comedians Christine Hurley (Americas Funniest Mom TV Show), Ken Rogerson (Conan O'Brien Show), Johnny Pizzi (National Headliner), and a live performance by the well known Aerosmith tribute band, Draw the Line.

The event takes place at the The War Memorial Building, 156 West Elm St., Brockton, MA from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM and is sponsored by Yale Appliance and Electric. Tickets: $50. a portion of the proceeds will be going to The Jet Foundation and the Mass Hospital School. Website:www.RocknComedy.com

If you're a Rod Stewart fan, Jay Gates and his Rod Stewart Tribute Band will be performing at Roggie's, 356 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Boston on Saturday night. (617)566-1880

Also on Saturday, the Section 42 Band will be at Garcia Brogan's Cantina, Pub and Restaurant, 131 Middlesex Street in Lowell (978)446-0005. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Cantab Lounge, 738 Mass Ave., Cambridge, (617)354-2685, has the Juke Joint 5 Band on Saturday. The band is a house-rocking kickass electric blues band that will surely keep you on the dance floor.

The Diezel Band, one of New Englands best high energy rock and dance cover bands, is putting the rock in Rockafellas on Saturday night. Rockafellas, 231 Essex Street, Salem (978)745-2411.

The Fat City Band will be at The C Note, 159 Nantasket Ave., Hull, (781)925-4300 on Saturday night. The Fat City Band is a six piece, high energy, swing, jump blues, New Orleans style R&B band. Fat City has a 30 plus year legacy both locally and nationally. They've shared the stage with some of the all time greats of the industry such as James Brown, B.B. King, and Ray Charles to name a few.
