On the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, there is yet another scare in the city that represents "Boston Strong." ABC News reported late on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, that the Boston Marathon finish line has been evacuated due to police finding two suspicious bags that were left out in the open.
Police presence and security was extremely high for this year's Boston Marathon, but there still has been an incident.
Police have reported that the bags were left in an area of Boylston Street and Exeter Street and the road has been closed. A photo was tweeted out by Ryan Catalani that shows a black backpack sitting right in the middle of the street.
An official from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has said that Green Line trains were not going to be stopping at Copley Station. This was done after the discovery of the black backpack and another bag at the Boston Marathon finish line.
People have been moved away and evacuated from the area surrounding the finish line as police investigate further into the situation.
There are no further details as to what may have been contained in the bags or who could have left them. This situation comes one year to the day after the Boston Marathon bombings that ended up killing three people and injuring 264 others.
