This Sunday, August 8th, Boston will see something it hasn't seen anywhere near enough of before:
A whole fleet of food trucks.
Common in other major cities, particularly Los Angeles, food trucks aren't a normal part of the average Bostonian's routine. Sunday's Food Truck Festival, however, is hoping to change that.
The event is being hosted by SoWa Sundays, a South End institution, and Citysearch Boston. Multiple vendors will be setting up (portable) shop at SoWa's regular site, at 500 Harrison Avenue in Boston.
Of particular interest to the Boston bakery lover will be the Cupcakory, a cupcake van which will be having its debut at the event. With a plan to bake small-batch cupcakes using fresh organic and locally sourced ingredients, this innovative take on the cupcake trend promises to be delightfully delectable, as well as delivered to your door.
So make the trek to the trucks this Sunday - hopefully, if the event goes well, Bostonians will have a lot more chances to have great food come to them.
The Food Truck Festival will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the SoWa Market's regular site, at 500 Harrison Avenue in Boston.
