Kick off the New Year by spending the day at the award-winning Boston Children’s Museum celebrating the Chinese New Year in a traditional way on Sunday, February 9 at 11 a.m. With a wealth of family activities, traditional food, cultural crafts, and performances, The Boston Children’s Museum annually honors the Chinese New Year, which is the year of the Horse.

Some the many highlights of the day will involve a demonstration and dance performed by Yang’s Martial Arts Association of Andover and Boston. Jennifer DeCristoforo, author of Lucky Bamboo Book of Crafts, will show attendees how to make some of her most popular crafts. The Boston Children’s Museum will also welcome the Westwood Chinese School, Wang WMCA, and Cambridge Center for Chinese Culture for an array of dance, martial arts, music, and games.
