One of the longest-running centennial celebrations is nestled right in Boston!
The Boston Children’s Museum has had an incredible year with a Big Cake Birthday Tour chock- full of free events around communities around Massachusetts. There have been Menino movies, cultural events, special guests, games, plenty of family activities, and even an interactive exhibit by the Blue Man Group!
To think this is just the beginning.
On Friday, October 4, the Boston Children’s Museum will celebrate with its Big Birthday Weekend Plans starting at 4:30 p.m. Grab cake from Montilio’s Baking Company, go dancing with ‘Remix of the Ages Dance Party’ approved by adults, compete in a DJ battle, and witness an extraordinary performance from the Boston Children’s Chorus.
The music continues on Saturday, October 5 with live cultural performances with Dance Urbanity with the Ages, the Afro-Brazilian Ensemble, Revels, and Iskwelahang Pilipino Rondalla of Boston along with a selection of family activities taking place in the National Grid Tinker Tent. Then take a cruise off the Boston Harbor with the Inflatable cake tour, visiting the Boston Aquarium, Charlestown Navy Yard, and much more.
Cap off Saturday night with Boston Children’s Museum’s ‘Up too late – the Unexpected Party of a Century, a special evening that includes dancing, food, and drinks at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, October 6, visit live animals, play New Balance games, and watch live performances including one from Boston ballet students.
