She’s been awfully busy since we got to know her, but Bosco is never too busy to tend to her fans.
Today she released “Joker” from her upcoming EP Let Go Of Me which is set to drop March 6. The track may sound familiar to folks who seen her recent shows, as this is the track where everyone gets to have fun with her drumsticks when she performs it live! Imagine a 80s synth-pop rock record stripped down to a tribal sound, leaving behind the electronic trances but keeping its sultry temptation.
Of course, “Joker” is about love! Why not drop a love-related tune on Valentine’s Day? Unfortunately there is a “lonely fool” in the midst of this track, which at some point(s) is stated as both the love-stricken and the striker. It does seem like she gives a nod to Batman’s prime villains, The Joker obviously (well, it isn’t called “Penguin” or “Riddler” so one can only assume), as she constantly visits that smile. Why must it be so serious Bosco? “Joker” is available on her website hellobosco.com.
If getting a new record from her not enough – because in these recession-laden days, it’s not – there are other ways to support and enjoy Bosco. She has begun a Kickstarter campaign for her and her band to tour the country in March and April, and only has 11 days to reach her $5000 goal. “With the EP near its completion, we are gearing up for our first tour,” she says in a statement. “Having exhausted our funds in the production, recording, mixing, mastering, and pressing of the EP, we are now attempting to fundraise for the tour.”
Although her latest live show will not be in Little Five Points, check out Bosco tonight at Mint Gallery in a Valentine’s Day Pop-Up Show featuring Go Dreamer, Of Color, KidSyc and Diamond Knife. Doors open at 9 p.m.
