Borrowed Talents started out as a crafter traveling through out western Mass on the weekends, through the years we expanded into central Mass and Northern Conn, some times staying out in the road for as many as 4 weeks at a time. Using the knowledge gained from years of working at other craft fairs Borrowed Talents decided to run a show. Our first show was in July of 2012 and we had over 35 crafters take part in the show. In 2013 Borrowed Talents expanded to three shows April July and September, both the July, and September shows are two day shows. All shows are held at the Moose Lodge and family center in Chicopee Mass.
We started Borrowed Talents Craft Fair and Art Show in order to bring back “craft fairs” to what they use to mean, and that is home made items. For many years now Craft Fairs have lost there original meaning, they allowed vendors, direct sellers, and resellers into the event but keep the term craft fair instead of calling them what they should be called and that is vendor fairs.
Over the past decade there has been a resurgence of people learning the more traditional crafts such as knitting, woodworking, and chandlery (candle making), crochet, and many different types of jewelry, and a surge in creativity bringing about new handcrafted products. In the spirit we feel that the time is ripe to bring back events that are dedicated to the crafter and the hand made arts.
The crafters we have at our first show on April 7th include jewelers, woodworkers, glass etching, chocolates makers, cheesecake creators, dog treats, garden decor, stone and slate art, garden figurines, and knit and crochet items. All items have one thing in common they are made by hand. All shows are free admision and free parking.
Moose Lodge and family center address is 244 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA. The show is scheduled for April 7, 2013.
