The Ottawa Senators all-star break is underway and they have sent a couple key pieces back to Binghamton, as defenseman Mark Borowiecki and forward Andre Petersson have been reassigned.
Borowiecki made his National Hockey League debut January 19th; in a 4-1 Senators win in San Jose. In two games with Ottawa, he registered two penalty minutes. The Ottawa native has recorded 15 points (three goals,12 assists) while adding 76 penalty minutes in 42 games for Binghamton during his first full professional season.
Petersson debuted in Ottawa on January 21st against the Anaheim Ducks. He played 5:02 in the game.
He currently ranks third among the B-Sens with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 30 AHL games this season.
Borowiecki was also added to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic. Borowiecki, a 22-year-old rookie, made his professional debut at the end of the 2010-11 season and helped Binghamton to a Calder Cup championship.
He will join Binghamton teammate Corey Locke on the squad. Binghamton head coach Kurt Kleinendorst has been named to the coaching staff and equipment manager Tom Severance and trainer Glen Kinney have been added as well.
