Boros Charm from 'Gatecrash' revealed (Photos)

Boros Charm is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Jan. 11, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Revealed in a video on "The Magic Show" by Evan Erwin, there's no doubt that Boros Charm will see competitive play.

Boros Charm - RW
Instant (Uncommon)
Choose one - Boros Charm deals 4 damage to target player; or permanents you control are indestructible this turn; or target creature gains double strike until end of turn.

"Practice compassion and mercy. But know when they must end."
-Aurelia

Although Boros Charm can't target a creature like Pillar of Flame or Searing Spear, it's a cost effective way of burning an opponent. Four damage is certainly no small amount. It's one fifth of their life total, and Flame Rift sees play in burn decks precisely for that reason.

Because Boros Charm can make your creatures indestructible, they'll be able to survive an opponent's Supreme Verdict or overloaded Mizzium Mortars.

Boros Charm's Double Cleave mode can be especially deadly when combined with fire-breathing creatures like Foundry Champion.

No matter which mode you choose, Boros Charm can have a devastating effect on your game.

How will you use Boros Charm?
