Boris Diaw crashes a party in Texas over the weekend, and he is now a big hit on social media. The NBA basketball player just helped the San Antonio Spurs win the championship earlier this month. After sending the Miami Heat without championship rings, Diaw decided to take a little trip. He ended up on Lake Travis, which is near Austin, Texas. He was enjoying some fun in the sun, and he didn't mind showing off the beautiful view from his location. USA Today Sports For The Win reported on what happened next during his trip on June 24.
Several boats were on the lake on Saturday. On one of those boats, a group of women were celebrating with a bachelorette party. Someone spotted Diaw near the boat, and he decided to crash the party. Someone in attendance at the party revealed what happened next, according to The Huffington Post:
"My friend was at Lake Travis for a bachelorette party when she saw that Boris had tweeted about being on the lake for the day. She told her friends and they were joking about riding around the lake shouting 'BORIS', and he actually heard them from a boat away saying his name. Boris immediately swam over to celebrate with them and asked if he could kiss the bachelorette. She also claimed that they sang 'All I do is win win win no matta what.'"
This story shows just how nice a player Diaw is. Some might not be happy about having their party crashed in this manner, but the women were looking for him. The photo shared by the friend of the bride showed a very happy pair, and his kiss was only on her cheek. The identity of the bride-to-be was not revealed. A user by the name of bettercallsaul3 posted the photo and the story on Reddit back on Tuesday.
During the championship round of the NBA playoffs, Boris Diaw played a positive role, and he helped his team defeat the Miami Heat. Lebron James and his team were looking to three-peat with a win this season. Diaw did spend some of his time guarding James during their playoff series. Boris Diaw formerly played with the Phoenix Suns, and he joined the Spurs in 2012.
What do you think of this move by Boris Diaw? Would you be upset by someone crashing your party? Or would you welcome the intrusion? Boris Diaw definitely deserved to have some fun after the Spurs win.
