Families shopping for books, CDs, and DVDs for children at Borders can also now enjoy newly expanded toys and games sections in over 500 superstores across the United States, including several locations in Chicago.
Frequent visitors to Borders over the past couple of years may have noticed their growing selection of quality toys, including not just book-related toys (like Sandra Boynton plush dolls or Fancy Nancy games) but regular toys like Fashion Angels design kits and the LEGO® 50th Anniversary set.
Now Borders has redesigned their kids' section to display their toys and games more prominently, as well as expanding even farther the number of toy brands they carry.

Finding toys and games at Borders
To help customers find exactly the right toy, book, or game for each child, Borders has provided some useful resources.
- Each Borders children's department will be staffed with a dedicated kids' specialist who can answer questions and make product recommendations based on children's needs.
- Shoppers can visit the Borders Web site to print off a Toys and Games guide that explains which of the carefully selected educational toys stocked at Borders are best for children of different age groups (0 to 24 months, 2 to 4 years, and 5 and up). The guide describes the skills the toys develop and the kinds of play they encourage, as well as listing which brands of toys work best with each age group.
Borders has also redesigned the book displays in the Children's Department, moving the Independent Readers for children ages 8 to 12 to a special section outside of the Children's Department to make more room for toys, games, and fun Borders-sponsored children's events (such as the recent Kids Space Camp event and Super Saturday Smackdown book trivia challenge) and setting up a Picture Book wall that clearly displays featured children's picture books to make kids' book shopping easier for parents and kids.
Through Monday, August 10, 2009, Borders Rewards members can receive 20% off book, toy, and game purchases.
