Coming off the success of "Borderlands 2," the highest-selling game in 2K games history, "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" is set for a Fall release on Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360, 2K also confirmed.
"Fans are clamoring for an all-new, triple-A Borderlands experience," Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K said in today's release. "We will deliver just that with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.”
Although little else is known about the game, 2K did say that the plot will revolve on the events that lead to the rise of Handsome Jack as the crazed super villain he is today. Fighting alongside the iconic character, gamers will draw guns on Pandora's moon in what 2K called, "gravity-bending gunfights in zero-atmosphere environments."
According to the release, the game will also include new weapons and four new playable characters including fan favorite, Claptrap.
"There’s nothing quite like moon jumping in a low-gravity gunfight, completely freezing a moon bandit with one of the new Cryo weapons, and then shattering him into little pieces that float off into space," Tony Lawrence, general manager of 2K Australia said in the release. "It’s pretty epic.”
