The website Ign.com has revealed the existence of a new title in the “Borderlands” franchise. That game is currently known as “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,” and it was revealed on April 9, 2014. The game is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC sometime in the fall of 2014.

Little is currently known about “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.” What is known is that the game will feature four playable heroes like the previous two games (before the DLC characters were added in). These four characters are Athena, Wilhelm, Sheriff, and even a playable Claptrap. These characters (with the possible exception of Claptrap, based on the events in “Borderlands 2”) are employees of Handsome Jack. The game takes place between the previous two games- after “Borderlands” but before “Borderlands 2.” The game has been confirmed to not support transferring saves and characters from the previous titles, and it will have more content than the original game, but less than the sequel. The game also promises to introduce new mechanics, such as an Oxygen meter and a new Freeze element.
