‘Borderlands 2’ weekend SHiFT code redemption extended due to PSN maintenance (Photos)

Gearbox Software informed fans today that they will be extending the window players have to redeem the SHiFT codes that were given out this weekend for their popular co-op shooter, “Borderlands 2,” until tomorrow. Originally, the posted codes were set to expire today but the developer has extended the deadline until March 5 due to the extended maintenance that transpired on the Playstation Network today. Even though this would only affect PS3 players of “Borderlands 2,” Gearbox Software has decided to extend the deadline to input the SHiFT codes on all systems.

The SHiFT codes that were originally handed out over the weekend are good for five golden keys after redemption. Every golden key may open a special chest in the “Borderlands 2” city of Sanctuary and guarantees players a rare piece of in-game loot. This gear will match a player’s level so it’s best to hold off on using any acquired golden keys until reaching max level to ensure getting the best loot possible when expending golden keys. The codes for each system are as follows.

  • Xbox 360: WB5TJ-9KF95-3TZ3X-KR3JJ-FW9R3
  • PS3: 5JKJJ-CXZ53-5WWKT-H3WBJ-ZZ55X
  • PC/Mac: KJWJ3-SCBFK-S5F3J-JBBB3-BHCJ3

Borderlands 2” is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC/Mac.
