Randy Pitchford has provided some insight in regards to the upcoming raised level cap update for the recently-released multiplatform title, “Borderlands 2.” The CEO of Gearbox Software responded to a few fan questions from his Twitter page on Feb. 2, revealing some development details. He mentioned that working on the update has been difficult and expensive due to the balancing issues. - We know some customers are looking forward to a cap increase. It's difficult and expensive to do right... Stay tuned.
- It's a tricky problem that creates massive implications. We have lots of awesome people working hard on the game still, though.
- Some discoveries in test require huge, potentially game changing balance changes because of skill tree issues.
Gearbox Software, who is responsible for developing “Borderlands 2,” previously disclosed that they will be releasing an update to raise the level cap sometime during the first quarter of 2013.
The open-world cooperative role-playing game was released by 2K Games for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 18 as well as the Mac platform on Nov. 20 of last year. You can purchase the video game in the following link: “Borderlands 2”
