Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, has stated in the past that they would like to have a version of Borderlands 2 appear on the PS Vita. This goal will finally be coming true as the developer confirmed today that the loot-based shooter will be headed to the Sony handheld in 2014.
The game will be ported to the PS Vita thanks to a deal by Borderlands 2 publisher 2K Games and Sony which puts development of the handheld edition in the hands of Iron Galaxy Studios. The Playstation Vita edition of Borderlands 2 will give players access to the title’s initial four playable character classes in the search of new loot drops. Like all other Borderlands releases before it, Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita will allow up to four players to team up in order to take on the challenges of Pandora together.
Borderlands 2 is out now for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC/Mac. The PS Vita version of the game will launch at some point in 2014.
