2K games released the Mechromancer class DLC Oct 9, a week before they were planning on releasing the first DLC for Borderlands 2. The Mechromancer was expected to be available Oct. 16 but 2K was ahead of schedule so they released it early.

The Mechromancer class allows you to play as Gauge the Mechromancer who can summon a large robot named Deathtrap to help slay her enemies. Picking one of her 3 skill trees will allow you to either buff and support other players in your party, afflict status effects to your enemies, or powering up her anarchy skill.

This release marks the 5th playable class for Borderlands 2 which will not be available through the DLC season pass. The Mechromancer class DLC is available now on the PlayStation Network and for PC for 9.99 and available on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points.

Keep and eye on the Borderlands 2 official website for more info and a sneek peek at the skill tree for the Mechromancer when it is available.
