'Borderlands 2' level capacity increase coming before the end of March (Photos)

Gearbox previously stated that they would be implementing an update for “Borderlands 2” that would increase the level of capacity in the game. Although the official release date was not given for this update, it was stated that this would be released sometime during the early phases of 2013.

In regards to this, today the Official PlayStation Magazine UK has discovered that this update is planned to be released in Q1 2013.

We do have one planned, and it will be for quite a few levels which will allow you play for quite a bit longer. We also have a plan for Q1.

In addition to delivering this information, Gearbox has also commented on the process that they have used in order to keep track of where the majority of players are in “Borderlands 2.”

With Borderlands 1 we had to go by forum posts, and by checking out the number times certain achievements had been unlocked to really get an idea of where players were. But SHiFT allows us to see a lot more about the way players are playing the game, and see what they’re doing. We wanted to give people enough time to get at least one level 50 in there, and then see from there, how many people are doing this. Is this a good time for this? We also didn’t want to wait so long that people were no longer interested, or felt like it wasn’t coming.

As soon as we have a verified release date for this patch, we will be sure to update you.
