Fans of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 have already received one level cap increased which bumped the game’s top level up to 61. Pushing the maximum level up once more, the developer announced on Wednesday that the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge is set to release next week. Like the first upgrade pack, the upcoming DLC will provide players with the opportunity to add another 11 levels to their in-game characters, allowing fans to reach level 72.
To prepare for the updated level cap, players are being treated to a special event this weekend inside the popular loot-based shooter. Gamers will benefit from an increased change for rare shield drops this Labor Day weekend.
In addition to offering another level cap increase, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge will also offer a new challenging mode in which players can face off against the game’s many bosses inside a new area. Fans will also be able to overlevel the game, which ranks all of the enemies of Pandora up to level 80.
Borderlands 2 is out now for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC/Mac. The game has received four campaign DLC packs, two additional character classes, and an add-on which increased the title’s initial level cap. The second level cap increasing DLC is set to release next week Sept 3.
