Randy Pitchford has provided a short statement in regards to the official unveiling of the PS4. The CEO of Gearbox Software, the developer behind “Borderlands 2,” disclosed on Twitter that the event was “great.” He was also very happy with the specs for the next-generation system, especially Sony’s decision to double the amount of GDDR5 memory from the rumored 4 GB to 8 GB. You can check out some images of the DualShock 4 and Playstation 4 Eye in the slideshow at the top of this article as well as the comments from Randy Pitchford below (courtesy of DuvalMagic Twitter):

Thanks for the great event in NY @playstation - Very pleased with the commitment to 8gb of GDDR5 memory. Other specs are beautiful too!

The PS4, which is slated to come out this holiday season, will come with the aforementioned the DualShock 4 and Playstation 4 Eye accessories. The increased in memory should give developers more room to work with when creating thier games.
