The sequel to what is considered to be one of the most successful direct-to-video films of all time has gotten a trailer release.
The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day trailer has hit the internet. The original film tells the story of two Irish brothers with devout Catholic faith who become vigilantes to clean up the crime-laden streets of their Boston neighborhood. After the events of the Columbine tragedy and the blacklist thereafter, it became a direct-to-video release, but grew in such popularity that it became a cult classic. Boondock Saints has such a following that theaters have held special one-night screenings of the film. With the release of the sequel, Troy Duffy finally has the opportunity to bring his characters to the big screen. From the trailer it appears that the sequel will focus further on the escapades of the MacManus brothers and will include much of the original cast.
Prior to the release of the trailer, little information on the sequel has been made available to the public. The film doesn't have a website and official poster images haven't been released. The trailer has set the film's theatrical release date to October 30th.
