Boon Satyr is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 9, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in an article by Mark Rosewater on DailyMTG.com. This rare green creature is the most aggressively costed bestow creature that we've seen so far.
Boon Satyr - 1GG
Enchantment Creature - Satyr (Rare)
Bestow 3GG (If you cast this card for its bestow cost, it's an Aura spell with enchant creature. It becomes a creature again if it's not attached to a creature.)
Enchanted creature gets +4/+2.
With a power greater than its mana cost and flash, Boon Satyr can surprise your opponent during combat as an additional blocker to trade with Loxodon Smiter. Boon Satyr can also enter the battlefield at the end of your opponent's turn to attack, or just be played as a combat trick to pump your creature after your rival casts a burn spell like Magma Jet. When your adversary finally deals with your threat, Boon Satyr will transform into a 4/2 creature to continue punishing them.
Like all bestow creature we've seen so far, Boon Satyr can be devastating in limited. This particular one though might just also make some waves in constructed formats too. Because Boon Satyr has flash one good place for it may be in a creature heavy Domri Rade deck or alongside Advent of the Wurm.
How will you use Boon Satyr?
