These photos of Boomer, a 7 foot long dog were taken on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Boomer is a 180-pound Landseer Newfoundland. His owner, Caryn Weber lives in Casselton, N.D.
Boomer stands 36 inches tall at the shoulders, 7 feet from nose to tail, and weighs 180 pounds. Boomer’s measurements are being sent to Guinness World Records for consideration as the tallest living dog. The previous record holder was just over 42 inches at the shoulders was a Great Dane that just died.

Boomer, 3 years old, keeps all four paws on the floor and can drink from the kitchen sink, and can stare into car windows and see drivers eye-to-eye. A 20-pound bag of dog food lasts him a few weeks.
Utah held a record for the largest dog on record before he died in 1957. The owner loved the dog so much that he had the dog's head stuffed after he died, to see a photo of the dog's head, click here.
