Since mid-April, Planet of the Apes fans have been all abuzz with the unveiling of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie trailer. The trailer's premiere unleashed a wave of Apes-mania creating an unprecedented pre-release sell out of BOOM! Studios Planet of the Apes #1, sending the first issue into a second printing.
In response to the high demand, BOOM is offering it's critically acclaimed first story arc in a trade paperback—Planet of the Apes vol. 1, for $9.99. The volume will bring fans up to date and ready for the new story arc, starting with Planet of the Apes #5 for only a buck. Both will be available this August, to coincide with the release of the new Apes feature film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
BOOM's story line takes place before the original 1968 classic, Planet of the Apes movie, and stays true to the continuity of the 5 Apes films. The series begins in a time when Ape society reaches a new golden age, but there are ripples of dissent in both ape and human ranks. Tensions rise and soon all will be caught in chaos!
