Last night the Perfect Blend Café and Bakery hosted the first annual Books at the Bakery, a fund raiser for the Literacy Volunteers of America.

The evening was the perfect blend of goodies- for both the mind and the body. The Texas YAHous (Houston area authors writing for teens) delighted the crowd with readings from their latest novels. Among the authors present were: Crystal Allen, Varsha Bajaj, Christina Mandelski, Lynne Kelly Hoening, Jenny Moss, Sophie Jordan, Christie Craig, Rachel Harris, Jennifer Mathieu and Kristin Rae.

Good Books in the Woods owner , Jay, was there selling some of the novels these talented authors read from. The evening finished off with a raffle of goodies brought by the authors. Lucky winners took home baskets filled with books and other book related gifts.

The Perfect Blend Café is a family owned restaurant and bakery that opened in 2012. The Café has an extensive espresso beverage menu, with enough syrup offerings to cover any craving. Perfect Blend opens Monday through Saturday . Mondays 7am to 3pm, Tuesdays through Fridays 7am to 5pm and Saturdays 7am to 2pm.

Their menu offers delicious breakfast quiches and croissant sandwhiches. Lunch is comprised of wraps, sandwhiches and homemade soup. For a full look at their menu, visit their webpage at http://www.perfectblendbakerycafe.com/Menu.html.
