Here’s what’s happening at Maud Marks Library this month.
Young Adult Programs
School is starting again and so is Teen Time. Teen Time provides junior high students with a safe after school hangout spot on Thursdays starting at 2:45 on days when there is school. The best part is that there is onsite registration. Your teen or tween only has to register the first Thursday they come.
The schedule for September is as follows:
September 12: Making Paper Flowers in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
September 19: Video and Other Game Day
September 26: Movie Day
Book Sale ~ September 14
Don’t miss the next book sale Saturday, September 14 from 10 AM to 4 PM. The Friends of the Maud Marks Library have a large selection of hardback fiction and nonfiction, as well as children's books and paperbacks for rock bottom prices.
Members of the Friends are also invited to a special book sale preview on Friday, September 13 from 4:30 to 6 PM. If you are not a member of the Friends yet, you can join at the door!
All proceeds from the book sale will benefit the library.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Did you know that Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15- October 15? During the month of September, Maud Marks Library will be hosting various events for all ages to celebrate the influence of the Latin American culture. It begins with basket weaving for adults on September 11, followed by paper flowers for the teens on September 12. Then, on September 18, there will be a special puppet show during pre-school storytime.
Also, don't forget to check out the special display of Hispanic authors and biographies of famous Hispanic-Americans.
