Leavens, Strand, Glover & Adler, LLC and the Lawyers for the Creative Arts are celebrating the American Bar Association's publication of MUSIC LAW FOR THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER with a special reception on Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the offices of Leavens, Strand, Glover & Adler, LLC on 203 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2550 in Chicago.
Written by the firm's partner Thomas R. Leavens, with chapter contributions by Heather R. Liberman of the firm, MUSIC LAW FOR THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER provides lawyers with comprehensive information on the business and legal topics that are likely to be encountered when representing a musical talent, producer, or consumer. While the book is written with the non-expert in mind, there is comprehensive information that will be helpful to all readers—especially to those who are developing music law as an aspect of their practice.
Leavens served as LCA's first full-time director and has had an impressive career serving as General Counsel to LRSmedia, LLC, MusicNow LLC, and Platinum Entertainment, Inc. He is a partner and founder of Leavens, Strand, Glover & Adler LLC, practicing in all areas of the performing, visual and literary arts, new media, intellectual property and technology and is highly regarded by his peers and artists alike for his range of art and entertainment experience, sound judgment, and wonderful disposition. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law and at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, teaching music law courses.
For those attending the reception, copies of MUSIC LAW FOR THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER will be available for purchase at the discounted price of $60.00, with all proceeds going to Lawyers for the Creative Arts. RSVP to Marci Rolnik at email@example.com.
