A short time before the events preceding the Great Tribulation, there will be 144,000 selected people anointed by God, and appointed as messengers possessing extraordinary power with the Holy Spirit. This selected and honored group of individuals will be from multifarious nations, with different tongues, spread throughout the world, and will speak for God for 1,260 days.
In the Book of Revelation, Chapter 14, it states: “Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless”.
Ultimately, these 144,000 will be ordinary, unassuming people, who will be of many religious backgrounds, amicably declaring the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to all of the remaining humans on earth. Surprisingly enough, most of the humans will reject and disregard the 144,000 people who will be speaking the Word of our Lord. This is an unfortunate occurrence, but it will transpire nonetheless.
Chapter 14 in the Book of Revelation is a very crucial and profound scripture to read. It outlines the noted few chosen by God to do His Will in efforts to help humanity a final time. This chapter should give all Christians hope in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It allows us to know that God will give humans a chance to believe in His Son, even until the last fragment of time here on earth.
God has already chosen the 144,000 individual who will fulfill this prophesy. It is all in a matter of time until this prophesy takes place. Consider what an honor it would be to be one of the 144,000. You could bear a child who then has a grandchild who could be one of the 144,000. What an honor and privilege that is. Of course, none of us knows or will know whom these individuals will be expect for He who has chosen them.
Beloved, allow this chapter in the Book of Revelations to give you more purpose and meaning in your life. Try not to be caught up in the misfortunes and sorrows of this life, but use them as strength for the future. Remember that all these negative events must take place to lead up to the end, and ultimately the Final Judgment.
Much more must happen before our Lord Jesus returns. Continue to pray and repent for your wrongdoings. Be compassionate to others and love each other with your whole heart. Trust in our Lord Jesus, for He will take care of us. Be patient and do not give up on yourself, your family, and especially our Lord Jesus!
