Lancaster area book lovers will have their choice of book sales this month as both the Manheim Township Public Library (MTPL) and the Lancaster Public Library (LPL) will hold back to back books sales.
The MTPL will hold its annual book sale 10 – 12 September. In past years the sale was held in one of the meeting rooms at the library but it has become so popular that it has outgrown the library! This year, the sale will be across Overlook Park in the Overlook Activities Center (that is, the skating rink). Tuesday and Wednesday the sale runs 9 am to 8 pm. Thursday it runs 9 am to 5 pm. There is plenty of free parking.
The LPL has a book sale coming up 13 – 15 September. The sale will be held at the Book Resort Center, 225 N Marshall Street. It will run 9 am to 5 pm each of the three days.
These two sales are not only great for reading material now but also to stock up on some Christmas gifts! In addition to these two sales, there are many bookstores in Lancaster -and the surrounding area. Please view the list below to read through them.
Visit the Tell Café and Used Bookstore at the MTPL. The café/store is located on the left immediately after entering the building. It offers a variety of foods and drinks appropriate for a café. The sales from the used books and library merchandise support the library services, materials and programs. The inventory is always changing so be sure to check back often.
The LPL also operates two bookstores. They are the Marshall Street Book Resort, at 225 N. Marshall St., and the Juliana Bookstore on the first floor of the library.
