Book bloggers and book clubs take center stage at the Baltimore Book Festival

Two panels scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 26, at the Baltimore Book Festival highlight the growing influence of book bloggers and tips for book club members.

The Wonderful World of Book Blogging, which will be held on the Festival Stage at 1 pm, will focus on the basics of book blogging and current blogging trends. The panel will be moderated by Heather Johnson of Age 30+…A Lifetime of Books. Panelists include Nicole Bonia of Linus’s Blanket; Candace Levy of Beth Fish Reads; Serena Agusto-Cox of Savvy Verse & Wit and the D.C. Literature Examiner; Celest Sollod of Reading Local: Baltimore; and Dave Rosenthal and Nancy Knight of Read Street.

The Bookclub Toolkit, scheduled for 3 pm on the Festival Stage, will feature long-time book club members with valuable tips to help clubs select books, manage problem members, and generate excitement. The panel will be moderated by Heather Johnson, a.k.a. The Book Club Madam, of the Storie delle Sorelle book club in Glen Burnie. Panelists include Melissa McCrory Hatcher of Storie delle Sorelle; Swapna Krishna, a member of both online and offline book clubs; Julie Peterson of The Preschool Moms Book Club; Faye Houston, book club coordinator at the Pratt Library Central Branch; and Mandy Entwistle of The Paige Turner Book Club.
