"Boo! at The Bushnell"

Looking for something to do on Halloween that doesn’t require dressing in costume or consuming massive amounts of candy?  “Boo! at The Bushnell” might be just the thing! And the best part… it’s free!

“Boo! at The Bushnell” is a conference to celebrate the 200th birthday of Edgar Allen Poe and to examine the evolution of the horror genre within theater, literature, and film. This event will include several guest speakers and a special screening of The House of Usher. Some speakers appearing in the lineup include: Timothy Deal (editor at Shroud Magazine), Alisa Sheckley Kwitney (writer), Michael Wilson (artistic director at Hartford Stage), and Dan Keohane (co-chair, New England Horror Writers).

“Boo! at The Bushnell” is from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2009; registration begins at 9:30 am. There is no fee to attend this conference but space is limited so call ahead to register.

The Bushnell is located at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut. The conference will be held in the Maxwell and Ruth Belding Theater
