Did you ever have the urge to sail a pumpkin as far as you can and watch it smash to bits? Well, Bonnybrook Farms in Clarksville, Ohio will give you the chance to fulfill that fantasy and also enjoy a multitude of other family-fun activities at their annual Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.
Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival For $5 you can get your hands on one of Bonnybrook Farm's giant slingshots where you can chuck pumpkins for great distances to your heart's content and watch them explode as they hit the ground.
Free activities at Bonnybrook Farms include a petting zoo, Horseshoe Hill with a tunnel and an 80 foot underground slide, a coloring contest and the Farmyard Play Area with swings, playhouses, a sandbox and a train locomotive. You can also guess the weight of a giant pumpkin.
Other Farm activities are the Adventure Hayride, the Crazed Corn Maze, Clodhopper Golf and pony rides. Cost of the hayrides is $10 (Children 3 and under are free). Cost of the corn maze is $7 (Children 3 and under are free). Cost of the Clodhopper Golf is $3 and the hand-led pony rides are $5 or two rides for $7. (Riders must be at least 36 inches tall).

A unique attraction at Bonnybrook Farms is the Lantern Light Wagon Rides being held on Saturday, October 26 that give visitors a chance to ride down an abandoned country road by lantern light while hearing tales and adventures of historical characters and ghosts that they will meet along the journey. They will travel the tracks of the "Old Sheepskin" railroad line, along Todd's Creek and past ruins of buildings from by-gone days. After the wagon ride, passengers will gather around a campfire.
The Lantern Light Wagon Rides take place at 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Cost is $10. Children 3 and younger are free.
Visitors can also enjoy the Farm Kitchen Cafe where you can purchase culinary delights like seasonal foods, kettle corn, hot chocolate and cider.
Hours for the Bonnybrook Farms Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival are noon - 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday with extended hours for passengers on the Lantern Light Wagon Rides on Saturday. Admission is free but there are fees for various activities. Parking is free.
