Rolling Stone released the cozy clip of McKee performing "Hallelujah." In talking with the magazine, she explained why she picked that song to sing.
"I wanted to make a video for the holidays but none of the traditional holiday songs were moving me," McKee told Rolling Stone. "I know 'Hallelujah' isn't actually a Christmas song, but it has that cozy, haunting vibe that sounds like a winter's night and belongs by a fire."
In the video, McKee covers "Hallelujah" by the glow of a fireplace and Christmas lights. A woman plays the guitar as Bonnie gently sings the track popularized by Jeff Buckley. She later digs deep to give an impassioned performance. Fans can consider McKee's awesome rendition as an early Christmas present.
McKee has written hit songs for Britney Spears, Ke$ha, Katy Perry and many other pop stars. She stepped out on her own this year with "American Girl." Her next album with Epic Records is set to be released sometime next year.
