Bonnie Bishop - Things I Know review

As a music lover I'm always on the lookout for great new artists.  Recently a friend of mine suggested that I give a singer and songwriter named Bonnie Bishop a listen.  Up until this point Bonnie Bishop was a name that I hadn't known, but thankfully that was soon to change.  It has been weeks since my first listen to her new album titled "Things I know" and since the day I first heard her, Bonnie hasn't once left my stereo.  My CD player is like a gateway to what is manifesting in my heart.  Most days my stereo changes music rapidly along with my moods and emotions.  But she has remained playing through my speakers and has become a constant source of daily joy for me.

Bishop is far from background music.  Her art begs to be listened to.  She makes you want to sit down and listen closely to what she has to say, like a friend who has chosen to confide in you.  From the first song to the last, her beautifully raspy voice belts out vocals of lyrical perfection with an amazing mix of blues, country, rock and a twist of soul.

"Things I Know" is a CD that is layered with spiritual inspiration, a longing to love and be loved and an honest recognition of life and its struggles.  When it comes down to it, Bonnie is refreshingly real.

Her album is available now on ITunes and in stores.  She will be touring throughout the fall both acoustically and with her band so if you're like me, you'll be hoping that she'll be coming to your town soon!

Make sure you check out her website to hear full songs and see a list of tour dates.
