The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival continued their twice weekly schedule for releases in their 2013 Lineup Clue game today, Jan. 17. As is always the case with the Thursday clues, this one was in three parts scattered across Bonnaroo's various media outlets.
The first part of the clue, available via the Bonnaroo365 Youtube channel is "Two fathers sitting still." The second, announced on Radio Bonnaroo, is "Deep in the fields of lava." The third, available on the Bonnaroo App, is "waiting for the scream."
So taken all together, the haiku for Clue #6 is:
Two fathers sitting still
Deep in the fields of lava
waiting for the scream
This is one of the more baffling clues of the lot. Most have gotten some early and fairly decent guesses from clue sleuths but this one appears to have them all baffled. "Two fathers sitting still" could be a play on the band's name or could reference either a two man band or two solo artists touring together.
"Deep in the fields of lava", the radio clue, was the last piece most people got and it's been the hardest to decipher. Obviously fields of lava could refer to a volcano, although certainly it could refer to a city buried under lava like Pompeii or Plymouth. Or it may have nothing to do with volcanos at all, with lava being a synonym for something else.
"Waiting for the scream" could similarly be taken multiple ways. Some have referenced the famous painting by Edvard Munch, signaling a band from Norway. Others think if you're waiting for a scream, it's indicative of silence and have been solving around that.
Popular choices so far among clue sleuths seem to be Mumford and Sons, Watch the Throne, and Snoop Lion.
