Bonnaroo 2012 rumors: What Electronic artists could play Bonnaroo 2012?

Bonnaroo rumor season is just around the corner and we here at the Nashville Festivals Examiner can't wait.  But until we get some solid rumors to chew on, we can make educated guesses about some acts that could possibly come to Bonnaroo 2012 based on recent trends and current touring information.

Electronic music has long been a part of Bonnaroo, but never more than Bonnaroo 2011 when Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Beats Antique, Shpongle, and Girl Talk were among the artists performing.  So it's a safe bet that at least a few Electronic acts will be appearing at Bonnaroo 2012.  Here are some of the ones we see as possible:

Skrillex

Skrillex has probably been the fastest rising Electronic artist of 2011.  Not only has he established himself as an in demand act on his own, but he has raised his profile with feature appearances with Korn and Kaskade.

Tiesto

Tiesto's last appearance at Bonnaroo was in 2008 but he has kept a high profile since then, playing festivals like Coachella and Ultra.  While he currently only has a few shows booked for 2012, Bonnaroo could very easily be one of them.  Tiesto is a big enough name to be a major draw for Bonnaroo crowds.

Tangerine Dream

If Bonnaroo wanted to shake things up a little bit, they could do much worse than going old school with Tangerine Dream.  The legendary group performed at Bonnaroo promoter AC Entertainment's Moogfest in 2011 so they have been on the booking team's radar in recent months.

Flying Lotus

Genre jumping Electronic artist Flying Lotus pops up often on Bonnaroo fan sites as a hoped for artist.  Combining everything from Hip Hop to Indie to Techno, his eclectic mix of music styles would make for an electrifying live act.

Conspirator

Bonnaroo regulars Disco Biscuits members Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner have an electronic jam side project called Conspirator that has gotten rave reviews for their performances at festivals such as Electric Forest, and Camp Bisco.  Disco Biscuits are always a safe possibility for a Bonnaroo appearance and it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility that the promoters would take the opportunity to fill two slots by booking Conspirator as well.

What Electronic act would you like to see at Bonnaroo 2012?  Kraftwerk?  Ghostland Observatory?  Daft Punk?  Someone we haven't mentioned yet?  Let us know in the comment section.
