Bon Jovi, & Richie Sambora are "Giving Brotherly Love a Bad Name". Especially after millions of fans have rocked with them for the last 30 years in concert halls across the world. Now founding guitar-gunner for Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, rock star extrodinare, is involved in the messiest divorce in rock & roll. Since McCartney & Lennon broke up the Beatles. In a "Blaze of Glory" Bon Jovi has reportedly fired lead guitarist Richie Sambora from the band’s current tour.
The reason why gets ugly from there, while trash talking to the British press, Bon Jovi intimated that Sambora was not with the band because of a drug relapse issue, that's when Sambora told Bon Jovi to stop those inaccuracies. That is a little rough, and the timings bad, especially this being the band's 30th anniversary of the “Because We Can Tour" should be a celebration, and should be a big deal.
It's kind of sad that a guitarist and song writer like a Richie Sambora, is being humiliated publicly and going through this, a muscian who wouldn't have lasted 30 second, let alone 30 years in his iconic band he wasn't worth his grain of salt. Which includes, Sambora making a wopping $2 million dollars monthly and 20 percent of the profits from BonJovi's touring, so it's unclear what both sides personal issues actually are.
Every co-lead band rock star and business partners going back to Lennon and McCartney have had serious falllouts. Like The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have a love-hate relationship. And even Aerosmiths Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have had to take a time out for a few years. And in Van Halens case, by the time they brought back David Lee Roth, nobody cared, Roth morphed into a crazy looking zombie. And at best this new association
with ex-Idol runner up Adam Lambert and Queen has him as a guest performer only with only a few financial perks.
But for Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora's relationship, they need to get back together, for the good of the partnership. Before this controversey Richie had dealt with substance abuse and had gone to rehab on multiple occasions. Although Sambora will still collect songwriting royalties and profits from merchandise, the laid off rockmister is not taking the news well. According to his camp, Richie wants to go back onstage because that’s his first love and he's really upset over the news.”
So let Richie make up with a few brews and some Jersey pizza pies for Jon and the guys and let them kiss and make up. Maybe Ritchie can in turn dial back the money he's making up front, after all his rider contract is ridiculous. Instead he can settle for a resonable percentage he earns annually, and maybe take on so me grown up tasks to show Jon he can be a responsible partner.
On the upside, Richie Sambora has a new solo Album: 'I Could Make the Music the Way I Wanted'. The Bon Jovi guitarist has been hard at work on his first solo album he started last summer in 2012. His first in 14 years, just released this summer. Funny in 2012 Ritchie returned to the studio with Jon Bon Jovi. Last year Sambora & Bon Jovi were busy writing together, coming up with a lot of great tracks and then started laying down tracks, for Bon Jovi's new album the basis of the 2013 “Because We Can Tour."
Yeah, but without Richie Sambora, "The Bon Jovi Tour" rolls on, as it has since the 54-year-old musician departed the group citing a “personal matter,”but Ritchie has left the door on the subject open for his return. Earlier this month, Sambora shared a new song, “Come Back as Me,” that seemed to be aimed at Jon Bon Jovi, but the guitarist took to his Twitter feed to dispel those rumors. Instead tweeting pictures of himself hanging out with his daughter and talking pride regarding his most recent solo album. Which if it leads to an extensive tour, could halt any near future BonJovi reunion.
For now since, both sides have stopped the sparring, will Sambora rejoin his bro-mance rockers when Bon Jovi hits the Jersey shores stage next week?
Fans are all "Livin’ on a Prayer" for that out come.... Stay tuned.
