The team doesn't know much about the Ghost Killer, but that may be about to change. Pelant (Andrew Leeds) was the one to clue Brennan (Emily Deschanel) in on the fact that she even exists, and since then, Brennan has become a bit obsessed. However, Cam (Tamara Taylor) stepped in and assigned the case to Clark (Eugene Byrd), someone with an objective eye, and since then, we've also seen Finn (Luke Kleintank) sitting down to take a look at what they have compiled on their latest serial killer.
In this next "Bones" episode, the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Stephanie McNamara (Kelly Rutherford), the daughter of a wealthy family, whose remains are found in a national park. In case you forgot, Stephanie was in "The Ghost in the Killer," and though her brother's death looked like a suicide, Brennan was convinced it was the Ghost Killer. When the team digs deeper into the circumstances surrounding Stephanie's death, clues from the case lead them to believe she could be yet another victim of the Ghost Killer, with a surprising connection to one of the previous victims.
Meanwhile, the FBI Deputy Director takes a special interest in the high-profile case, and Booth's (David Boreanaz) career could be in for some changes. In the most recent episode, "The Cold in the Case," Booth was tasked with going over other agents' cases while Sweets was assigned to review Booth, and while it looks like he's up for a promotion, Booth doesn't think this is necessarily good news. It would mean taking a position in Germany, and as he told Brennan, the base is a staging ground for counterterrorism activity and covert operations. They might want him to be a sniper again, something he refuses to do with his new life, his family.
The promo for "The Nail in the Coffin" shows that remains falling to the ground interrupts kids camping out. All of her nails were ripped out, and speaking of nails, the ones that Brennan is looking at are real. Caroline (Patricia Belcher) is at the crime scene with them, so you know this is big. Plus, get a look at where Booth and Brennan will be investigating. What will they find there? Will it be another body? Could it be a clue as to the Ghost Killer's identity?
Also, don't forget to check out the slideshow to see the promotional photos FOX has released from this episode. The photos show the team at the crime scene, Booth and Brennan finding something – or rather, someone – and more.
