Angela (Michaela Conlin) is more than just one of the Jeffersonian team, and "Bones" season 8 has already addressed her feelings about not following her passion of art, and on Tuesday, Jan. 22, FOX released photos from episode 14, "The Doll in the Derby," which will see her take on a different role for the job: going undercover.
In this "Bones" episode, Cam (Tamara Taylor) is going to be looking into Booth's (David Boreanaz) secretive hospital appointments. Meanwhile, turning to the case, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth will be investigating the death of a female roller derby skater who was dismembered. And it's another situation where it's time for some undercover work, but there's not going to be any more Buck and Wanda. Instead, Angela will be going undercover as a derby skater. During a conference call with reporters earlier this season, Stephen Nathan explained that
"Angela's been roller skating a lot more than anybody knew. So she's helping out in a case in a way that she wouldn't normally otherwise. This is somebody who's been a little frustrated with her job. She feels that…she's lived her life a little too safely lately and she wants to kind of break out a little bit. So getting slammed into a wall in roller derby seemed a good way to let that happen for her."
The "Doll in the Derby" photos, which you can see in the slideshow at the top of this article, offer a look at Booth and Brennan investigating and Angela undercover (and we can't wait to see more of that). It's not often that Angela gets out of the office, and not only does this look like the perfect case for it, it couldn't have come at a better time. She may have reduced hours now at the Jeffersonian, but this could also be just what she needs.
