It was only a matter of time before the official announcement that "Bones" would be back for a 10th season, and that came from Fox on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Yes, "Bones" will be back for a 10th season, plus after this week's episode, the show will be returning to Mondays beginning March 10. Given how loyal the fans are, following it to Friday nights, and the quality of the series, it was just a matter of waiting for the renewal to be official, and it just didn't seem likely it would stay on Friday nights.
In a statement, Kevin Reilly, Chairmen of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, has said, "Over the course of nine seasons, "Bones" has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can. Our viewers have embraced Emily, David and the entire cast and characters of "Bones" as their very own, and I think they are going to love what Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!" And with the news that there is going to be a season 10 comes the note that next season will feature the show's milestone 200th episode, quite a feat.
"Bones" season 9 continues Friday at 8 p.m. with "The Heiress in the Hill" and returns to Mondays March 10.
