Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly was talking about his network's shows at the Television Critics Association tour on Jan. 13, and The Hollywood Reporter announced that he hinted at when the "Bones" final season would be.
According to Reilly, he is currently negotiating the 10th season of the popular TV series, but he said that it looks like that will be the final season of the show. He said that negotiations are still underway, but he expects it to return for that final 10th season.
"Bones" stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel and has been one of the most popular shows on network television for the past nine years. Even when Fox moved "Bones" to Friday nights, normally a death slot thanks to TV ratings never holding up on a night where many people head out for the evening.
Despite the bad night, "Bones" is continuing to be successful, bringing in a nice 2.4 rating in all adults 18-49, which totals out to be about 8.6 million viewers season-to-date. With that kind of success, there is a pretty good chance that they will get the 10th season they are looking for.
Fox is also working with Hart Hanson, the man who created "Bones," on his next show "Backstrom," which will star Rainn Wilson ("The Office"). When, and if, "Bones" gets the 10th season run, the series will eclipse 200 episodes in its history.
