Bones 8x10 “The Diamond in the Rough” Recap
Sweets is watching a show called ‘Paranormal Abnormalities’. They think they find an apparition but it’s a skeleton jeweled on and there is a close-up with blood coming out of the mouth.
Bones is talking with Angie about her work. Angie tells her she is feeling unfulfilled. Bones gets a call about the remains. Bones thinks that Angie is feeling this way because she’s tired.
Bones says the skeleton is a female. Booth asks about the crystls on her body. Hodgins says that the nearby crystal building went down the river and with the water over time it hardened the crystals. Bones says they cant determine cause of death until all the crystals have been moved. Cam removes the shoes and Bones says they are abnormal. Booth leaves. The intern returns and goes to start taking off the crystals when he accidentally breaks off the hand, which upsets Bones.
Angie thinks that someone hit the feet with a hammer. She says every bone in the feet have been injured. Bones says that injuries could be a cause from either a gymnast or dancer. Bones starts to talk Angie about the drawbacks of their jobs. Angie finds a dancer who’s missing.
Sweets talks with Kendra about Katerena (the missing girl). He says that she just wanted to stop suddenly, but he didn’t want to stop. Sweet says that he wants to talk to his new partner. He says that Blossom, the new partner, wouldn’t have done it because he just got her after Katerena went missing for the audition for the TV show.
Sweets and Booth talk his interview. He says that Kendrick’s story checks out. Sweets says that it’s possible that Kendrick killed Katerena who spurred his advances. Sweets says that Kendrick is the #1 dancer in the area. Booth talks to Sweets about how he put himself through college teaching dance and how his mom taught him how to dance. Sweets talks about a motive money and possibly a tour.
Intern walks in with Hodgins who is working on something with maggots. He says that maybe the insects removed the pants, making it look like sexual assault.
Sweets suggests Booth and Bones go undercover. He says that this is the best way to know who killed Katerena. He thinks that someone did it from the show because Kendrick and Katerena were favorites to win. Bones says that she’s excited to work undercover and will teach Booth how to dance. Sweets reveals to her that Booth knows how to dance. Booth tells Bones she doesn’t know how to dance just because she watched it on TV. Sweets says that them working undercover is good because it will keep the other contestants safe. Bones thinks that she can do it from watching, because she did with tennis. Booth agrees to go undercover.
Booth and Bones sign up for the show as Butch and Wanda.
Intern keeps breaking parts off the body. He asks Hodgins for help.
Booth starts to teach Bones how to dance the ramba. A woman starts yelling at a man delivering shakes where she mentions she will kill anyone who tries to hurt her daughter. Her daughter comes over and apologizes to the delivery man and suggets he leave. Booth/Bones watch them dance and Booth realizes the competition is tough.
Cam comes to see Angie and she admits that she’s not sure she wants to reconstruct the body. The x-rays are sparkling and she doesn’t want to construct it. She says that she’s not sure she wants to do it because she used to be an artist and is no longer doing it. Cam says they can give her time off.
Booth starts trying to talk to a girl about Kendrick but she doesn’t want to talk to him.
Hodgins thinks that using aroma and detergent should dislodge the crystals but there is an overflow. When it settles the skeleton is all apart.
Bones talks to the daugher with the threatening mother. She says that her mother is a frustrated old dancer. The mother comes out and tells her to stay away from her daughter, Leila. She says unless she wants to end up like Katerena she tells Bones to stay away. Leila admits that her and Katerena are friends.
Hodgins tries again to take off the crystals with a new solution. It works.
Intern shows Bones a picture of the victim’s teeth. She thinks that maybe victim was bulimic. Cam comes in and says that she was choked out by her necklace.
Booth talks with Kendrick. Booth says that he wants to get another partner and asks Kendrick how to do it. He gives him three options 1. Break off the personal stuff. 2. Tell her she can’t dance. 3. Get lucky.
Cam talks with Angie as she leaves. She says that she is leaving early for the day. She says that she is taking her son to a painting museum. Intern comes and tells Cam that victim was killed by lead poisoning, and the dosage shows it wasn’t by accident.
Hodgins tells Cam and Intern the breaking of the neck is the cause of death. He thinks that the dosage was not lethal. They conclude that the lead came from a salt that contains the lead with small dosages over a long period of time.
Sweets talks with Booth/Bones. He says that there isn’t much of a suspect pool. He says the murder either was incompetent because they broke Katerena’s neck after the lead poisoning didn’t work. After the call ended, Bones starts kissing Booth the janitor walks in on them before they go back to kissing.
Cam calls Angie back and she is upset because she just looked at one picture. Angie discovers that Katerina had a doctors appointment with a neurologist.
Booth and Bones are continuing to practice. Booth asks if maybe Leila’s mom was poisioning Katerina.
Hodgins goes to talk with Angie. She says that she’s tired of the ugliness. She says that she wants to look at paintings. He goes and talks to Cam about Angie.
Bones tests Leila’s costume. It tests positive for lead.
Leila performs and they do good. Leila gives her mom a hug. Booth goes to arrest the mother. Leila admits to poisoning. She says she didn’t mean to kill her. Bones tells her the Katerina didn’t die from lead poisoning. He puts Leila and her mother in a cage while he goes and explains to Bones that Tommy, Leila’s boyfriend, did it.
Booth go and look for Tommy and he goes to run away. Booth chases after him. Bones helps by chasing him back before Booth punches him out.
Bones says she wants to audition for dance competition.
Before the group leaves to the dance competition, Cam tells Angie her hours are cut so she can work on her painting.
Booth and Bones audition and have a bad thing because they are competing on who should lead. At the end, they end up waltzing.
8x11 “The Archeologist in the Cocoon” Recap
A man who is hanging from a tree in his parachute. He calls his wife. He falls down a little bit and finds a body.
Bones is playing with Christine but she doesn’t respond to her. Bones thinks that she should be able to understand peak-a-boo before other kids in her daycare because she’s been faster then other kids in the daycare. Booth gets a call for the body.
At the scene, Cam is looking at a car. Hodgins and Bones go to look at the body. Cam says that blood has been wiped clean. Bones says that victim is a white male. Cam cuts the seats open to show the blood. Hodgins says that something spun the cocoon around the victim. Bones cuts a small opening and bugs fall on top of her.
Cam says that vehicle belong to a James Sutten. Hodgins says he wrote a book about the Maya calendar but was not very good. He says that web worms did the cocoon. He says that it’s been about five days.
Sweets brigns Booth books that James wrote. Booth asks about peak-a-boo with Christine. H esays that Booth should be concerned about the pressure Bones is putting on Christine. Sweets says that James wrote the books then tried to sell the artificats.
Hodgins brings in crows to eat the web worms.
Sweets/Bones talk with James’s wife. They met in the Czech Republic. Her brother says that James’s accident wasn’t an accident. They ask if James has been acting different. She says that he’s been anxious and excited. She gives them a key to a locker that has stuff they brought from Russia.
Bones/Booth go to the locker. They show that it was his office. There is a series of bones and she says that the bones are from thousands of years ago.
Edison talks about how exicied he is about the remains. Bones says she wants the remains but Cam says no because she has to solve the murder and Edison gets to study the remains. Bones is upset bout not getting to examine the caveman bones.
Hodgins is finishing with the skeleton. He says that he found an issue with the ribs. He receives a text from Edison asking him for help, but he doesn’t want to get in the middle of the fight with Edison and Bones.
Bones is talking to Booth about how upset he is about losing the caveman bones. Booth thinks that she is afraid that Edison would be ok without her. He brings up Christine and it doesn’t make her feel better.
Booth/Bones meet with James’s publisher. They were supposed to meet a week earlier about his new find. She says that he would sell the artifact all to one person, she didn’t know who but knew that he lived in Texas.
Edison and Angie are talking about the caveman bones. He says that she could create faces for the bones. Hodgins declines to help because he doesn’t want to get involved but Angie gets him to tell her what she needs.
Sweets finds out the man’s from Texas name as Wilson. He found an email that Wilson was upset that he paid for James’s trip but didn’t give him the bones.
Hodgins is helping to create the land and Bones comes in and she offers help without being asked. She scolds him for helping Edison and not helping with the murder case. He says they found a Neanderthal and a homosapians. She discovers that the homosapian was murdered and says that the bones are now hers.
Edison is angry that she might get the bones on a technicality. They fight over what constitutes as history and current. Cam comes in and says that Edison keeps the bones but they hve to work together.
Sweets meets with Wilson. He believes that world started 6000 years ago, because that’s what the Bible says. Sweets tries to get himself talking about scientists and religion. He says he follows the commandments. Sweets shows him the artifacts that he bought. He says he bought them because he loves history. Sweets asks what he does with the artificats. Wilson says that James stole from him. Sweets asks if God told Wilson to kill James. Wilson asks for a lawyer.
Edison looks as the sketches that Angie drew of the bones. He says that one of the children is too small. He looks at the bones again and says that child is ½ Neanderthal. The father is Neanderthal and the mother is a homosapian.
Cam sees that Bones is trying to work both the ancient bones and James’s. She thinks that the animal skin that was on the bone is from being flogged a few months earlier.
Hodgins found something that might have beaten James. He discovered the leather came from an animal from a place in Russia that he got when he was in his dig. Cam says that it was a harsh beating.
Sweets meets with Mrs. Sutton. He tells her about him being whipped. She says her family is old school. They didn’t want her to marry James. She says that her father whipped James. She says that’s why they came to America. She doesn’t think her father would come here after her because hre family disowned her.
Bones is still looking at the cave scene. She says that she is mad that she didn’t see the change because she was so wrapped up in the competition. Bones gives credit to Edison for his find.
Bones says she found a injursy on the arm, which could have been defensively. The conclude that weapon sliced across his shoulder, popping a major aorta and he bled out a minute later.
Booth meets with Mrs. Sutton’s brother. He was in the Russian army. Booth says there were major withdrawals in the last three months. He gets a large deposit for $20,000. Booth thinks that the brother took out James to get the family their honor back. He asks for a lawyer.
Hodgins shows Bones about the linen that was on the body. He says that it’s got a book shape but is sharper then a book. Bones says she knows who killed James.
Booth/Bones meet with the publisher. Bones finds a pool of blood that was cleaned up. Bones thinks that she killed James with a book end. She says that she was angry with him because he wanted to publish for free and cut her out of the profits.
Edison opens up an exhibit about the bones. He tells a story of what happened to the bodies. The three adults died from a hate crime. The little 3-year old girl died of starvation but when the parents and the child died, they died as a family.
Bones and Booth are playing with Christine. Bones tells Booth that she told Edison to credit James for the bones finding.
