Bond No. 9 New York - Creating a New York mood

Bond No. 9 is a perfume company that I love because of their undeniable  infatuation with fun and fantastic marketing coupled with the frivolity that comes from creating a line of perfumes centered playfully around New York City! Bond No. 9  is named for it's company's headquarters which live at 9 Bond Street in NOHO. I find the concept of Bond 9 nearly impossible to resist as its raison d' etre is to "Make scents of New York"  and it fulfills upon this mission by creating adorable perfumes and fabulously neighborhood centered packaging that is undeniably enticing......I mean who can resist the thought of a fragrance called  Andy Warhol, Lexington Avenue clothed in a bottle painted with the legendary Warhol shoes? I'm sure that there are those weaker than me but I've yet to meet them!

Bond No. 9 is a series of fragrances built upon the neighborhoods of New York City and each is different and most of them fulfill upon their mission beautifully! I love Central Park with it’s fresh notes of verbena, bergamot and lime Blossom and New Haarlem with it’s jazzy notes of coffee, vanilla and patchouli sends me into a bohemian sort of swoon where I’d sell my soul for a Gitane’s , sans filter.

I adore the Andy Warhol Silver Factory  which reeks of incense and amber with it’s sexually androgynous touch of iris and violet and what about the so very  wanton and artistic Astor Place , a heady infusion of violet, freesia ,orris , musk , amber and the notorious red poppy!  With so many to choose from it’s hard to pick a favorite, but currently I am in love with Bond No. 9 Saks for Her,  an absolutely stunning blend of tuberose, jasmine, gardenia ,vanilla and vetiver. Saks for Her and the equally delicious Saks for him create a balance of scent that is hard to resist. Which brings me to another delightful point.  Bond 9 fragrances are made to be layered  and many of the fragrances  are also presented in a delectable body silk that is absolutely luscious to the touch and great for that purpose! My SA showed me how to mix the Saks for Her body silk with the Park Avenue perfume. It was luscious and I highly recommend playing with them all. Just so your aware, Saks for Him and Her can only be found at Saks 5th Avenue  locations.

The entire line of Bond 9  is a delight for the eyes as well. The bottles are artistic and evoke powerfully the feelings of the neighborhoods that they are named after. The candles , fragrance bottles and solid perfume compacts are  so very fanciful and their BonBons,  adorable vials of fragrance wrapped in shiny colored foils are irresistable. If you are lucky enough to have a very generous sales associate like we do at the SFA in Cleveland, you will not leave the counter empty handed. Bond 9 samples are the delightful BonBons in mini form, wrapped in foil, bearing the names of the fragrance. You will love them! For someone like me who is drawn to color and whimsy, the Bond 9 line can be impossible to resist. These are not inexpensive fragrances, but they do give back their moneys worth in scent and form. Go spend the next rainy afternoon at Bond 9 New York counter nearest you. You'll be inspired by the many opportunities there and the ease with which you can create your very own New York state of mind.

Yum, those samples do look like candy!

So far my favorite is still the Saks Fifth Avenue For Her, but I have not tried everything yet and I need to test them individually instead of going in to Saks and plastering myself with half a dozen of them at a time. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
