Bonanzle says no to dump and run sellers

Dump and Run Sellers

Defined as the sellers that transport their listings onto a site, never to be seen again.
The unsuspecting buyer does not understand why they are not receiving answers to inquiries, or their items.

Bonanzle has decided to take action to alleviate the problem caused by the 'dump and run seller' and is implementing a new program to warn them.
 By instituting the following:

Sellers who haven't logged in for a couple months and do not respond to buyer emails will have their items reserved after a given number of warnings.

Sellers who haven't specified a valid form of payment to accept (Paypal, MO, or Google Checkout) will have their items reserved after a given number of warnings.

Sellers who do not pay their fees will have their booth items reserved after a given number of warnings.

Also note that on Bonanzle, a reserved item is not a deleted item. The item is no longer visible in the sellers booth or on the site, but it is still in the seller's management area and can be re-activated via the Bonanzle Batch Editor.

Wonderful! I am glad they are going to do something about this. It has been disheartening to say the least when I have had to email a person to see if the item I want is still available. Thank you for writing this and getting the word out also. Maybe in the future sellers will think twice about leaving their items and running. It truly makes them look un-professional. Another great article Phaedra!

Another concrete example of Bonanzle being a proactive venue, better for buyers and for sellers. How I love Bonanzle!

I for one am very happy to see this policy go into effect.
Thank you again for keeping us in the know!

    This is very good news.

A first time buyer would probably never think to see when a seller was last in their booth. At other sites, at least they need to pay weekly or monthly, so some attention must be paid to the listings.

Here it is easy to dump and run, so eliminating the abandoned listings is key. Thanks for the update!
