Bon Jovi to perform on 'American Idol' on March 14

Great news for Bon Jovi and "American Idol" fans, Bon Jovi announced on Thursday, Feb.21 that they wold be performing on the March 14 results show according to the Bon Jovi fan site.

Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torres will be taking a small break from their new 2013 world "Because We Can " tour to stop by the Fox studios and perform their new hit single coincidentally titled "Because We Can" from their new album "What About Now." The new album is set to drop on March 12.

Bon Jovi has been named as the first live performance of the new "American Idol" season.

American Idol yesterday began the 'Sudden Death Round', in which the contestants perform one last time for the judges before finding out if they will make it through to the next stage of the competition.

Five women survived the cut in last night's episode, while the ten remaining men will face the chop in tonight's installment.

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox in the US, at 8 p.m.
