Bon Jovi's visit to AT&T Center in March could turn into celebratory party

Bon Jovi has announced that it will play the AT&T Center on March 17, and that's cause for celebration on one account. It could also turn into a party the likes of which fans -- even the band -- have never seen.

According to the Bon Jovi Museum Tour Archive, singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, drummer Tico Torres and keyboardist David Bryan have not played San Antonio since the "New Jersey" tour on Jan. 27, 1989, at the old HemisFair Arena. Skid Row opened.

And while Bon Jovi's first visit to the Alamo City in 22 years will surely have longtime fans salivating for the next five months, the show may mark another special occasion. Having been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one month ago today, Bon Jovi will find out in December if it has been enshrined. The induction ceremony, however, takes place March 14 in New York City and will be televised live by Fuse. As of now, the San Antonio concert, which comes two days after Lady Gaga plays the AT&T Center, marks the first Bon Jovi show after the induction ceremony. Should Bon Jovi make the Hall, the San Antonio concert is likely to be one the band -- let alone fans -- will never forget.

Did someone say DVD in the making?

It was announced two weeks ago that "Bon Jovi -- The Circle Tour," featuring footage from the band's Memorial Day weekend shows in their home state of New Jersey, will be screened in 550 theaters nationwide (including four in San Antonio) on Nov. 8 (visit link at bottom for more info). That coincides with the Nov. 9 release of Bon Jovi -- Greatest Hits Collection, which includes the new single "What Do You Got." The screening now serves as an appetizer to the band's main-course appearance live and in the flesh.

According to Bon Jovi's website, presale and VIP concert tickets go on sale this Monday. General public sale information has not been announced. The tour kicks off Feb. 9 in University Park, Pa. Complete tour dates can be found here.

How lucky San Antonio is! March huh? I wonder how much a plane ticket would be if I booked it now.
