Bon Jovi makes Facebook fans an offer they can't refuse.

Jon Bon Jovi offers to be personal Superman for Facebook voters who get Superman Tonight to #1 on VH1

...And you thought Vito and Michael Corleone were irresistible.

Rock star Jon Bon Jovi has been around the block of rock a few times. Let’s face it, you don’t survive this long without knowing a little bit about how to stay ahead of the competition; keep your friends close, and your fans closer. So while musical trends and tastes have changed over the years, the irrepressible rocker has made a point of always listening to his fans.

In 27 years, they’ve never let each other down.

Bon Jovi still rocks it old school with nitro-powered performances that shame today’s uber-bands to the back of the bus and leaves his audiences speaking in tongues when they leave the venue after the show.

He’s been there for JoviNation and they’ve been there for him, which is why today Jon Bon Jovi called out the cavalry on Facebook with a very special request.

He made a similar request weeks ago about his music video, ‘Superman Tonight’. Though an excellent song, today’s radio programmers who do everything by demographics and computer read-outs weren’t giving it it’s due in airplay, and Bon Jovi needed help getting the song to move up in the charts on the VH1 Weekly Top 20.

Now Don Jon might be Old School, but this dog has learned some new tricks. Not only did he implore JoviNation to call their local radio stations to get the song played by request---remember the days of dialing those metal dial phones that would slice your finger off when you tried to dial-up quick multiple times?---but he also put his request out on Facebook and other social networking media.

Now think about it a minute: this ageless wonder of the pantheon of rock mastered the way the old game was played, and now he’s gone from knowing about social media from looking over his daughter’s shoulder on the computer at home to having figured out how to use social networking like Facebook to bring his legion of fans together for a common cause!

Is this guy great or what?

That’s why today, Don Bon Jovi put up a special request on Facebook, where his Bon Jovi Fan page boasts 1.6 million ‘official’ members and 300 fan pages exist, and it goes like this:

hey everybody
thank you so much for helping ‘Superman’ get to where it is on the vh1 charts, which is currently at #4! of course we want you to help us get it all the way to #1 and keep the single going as we wind down on this leg of the tour.

but I will make a bet with you and a deal: if you can get it to #1 on the vh1 top 20 charts richie and I will do a special acoustic version of ‘Superman’ in our dressing room just for you guys.

get it to #1 and force us to sing you a song.
thanks a lot for your help – jbj

So, on the day of Don Bon Jovi’s special request, are you ready to do his bidding? Then what are you waiting for? Get the word out to all of your family and friends on Facebook so you’ze can enjoy Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora playing you’ze a very special version of ‘Superman Tonight’ that will guarantee the competiton sleeps with the fishes.

And remember, you’re Don don’t like comin’ in second!

This made me giggle Glenn. Jon definitely knows how to...um..."motivate" us fans, right? I hadn't voted at all before now, but just tonight have voted 100 times. Now if the bet was that they'd be SHIRTLESS performing from the dressing room...well hell, I'd be up all night voting. ;)

    Have a nice day...

I love it, Glenn. And I've lost count how many times I've voted tonight. Gonna grab some munchies, then vote some more. How many times have YOU voted? :)

glennbo, i NEVER bother voting for these things; and i know your article was a re-write of his release on FB, but you are SO on top of All Things Bon Jovi that you motivated me to vote 85 times. Keep up the good work. I hear you are working on a Nikki Lund / Richie Sambora piece...any truth to that?
