The horrible event of September 15, 1963 left a flawed view of liberty in the hearts and minds of those who truly love American. Many felt a drop in their heart as well as loss of hope when children were targeted in protest of civil rights.
Obtaining a minuscule notion of humanity, this act was considered an act of terrorism inflicted upon those who were most helpless and in defiance of the moral structure in which America was built. Placing the stigma of hatred on the forefront from the beginning of this nation, slavery evolved into a psychology which pitted American constitutional harmony. This bombing on 16th Street at the Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama devastated the nation and drew more support for the fight to uphold the Constitution.
Five young girls were caught in the destruction, and only one miraculously survived. Divine intervention prevailed on that day, also securing a deeper resolve for the war in acquiring equal rights under the provisions of the law. Although tragic, this discriminate bombing uplifted the cause for civil rights in America. Honor must be given to those little girls who lost life; we must fight for one another to live a life of our choosing, abiding in and protected by the law. All power to the people is real.
