Bollywood Awards coming to Tampa in April

Bollywood’s version of “The Oscars”, the International Indian Film Academy's Weekend & Awards (IIFA) is coming to Tampa this April 23-26, 2014.

According to The Tampa Tribune the event is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors to the Tampa Bay area and have an economic impact of over $100 million dollars for the city. The awards will be held at the Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play.Tickets to the awards start at $93.50 for the upper levels of the stadium to $3,294.75 on the field near the stage.

The four day event includes acting and film workshops, a global business forum and it concludes with the awards and after party. In addition to film the event also focuses on promoting Indian fashion, music, business and culture with the world. The show is on its 15th year and this is the first time that is going to be held in the United States.

Academy Award winner actor kevin Spacey will headline one of the workshops.

Spacey’s workshop will focus on trends in Hollywood and the Indian film industry. He will be joined by Indian actor Vidya Balan.
